08 Digital Self Defense

A critical approach to technology in our daily lives.
Exploring privacy, strategies to escape the surveillance state, and the implications of the Swiss digital ID.

As technology use grows, and as technology itself evolves, it is essential to understand how to protect our privacy and personal interactions. The event introduced practical solutions and techniques to help participants choose their own level of confidentiality, privacy, and anonymity in different communication situations.

Together, we explored how to use the digital world more critically and consciously. We looked at alternative software that allows everyday activities without relying on third-party companies, reducing the collection and sharing of personal data. Key topics include mobile security, the use of alternative operating systems, and a simple look at some of the most common methods used in online crimes.

Through discussions and hands-on demonstrations, participants gained basic skills to begin defending themselves in the digital world.  The evening captured the spirit of our times and concluded, as always, with an enriching exchange among the audience. We look forward to continuing this discussion in the near future.
