Cinema and AI
Two weeks at CISA Film Academy in Locarno exploring AI in film production with an engaged group of students.
From story analysis and generative AI history to hands-on work in style, character creation, storyboarding, and post-production, the workshop concluded with four short films.
Many thanks to CISA faculty and director Marco Poloni for their trust, and to the Città di Locarno, the Castello Visconteo di Locarno, Marino Viganò, Chiara Lumia, Jonas Marti, and Giada Muto for their support in the research and development of the projects.

The dragon stone during our recent visit to the Museum in Luzern.
The Dragon Stone of Luzern
A shroud of mystery, healing powers, and heightened historical accounts surround this beautiful hard clay ball called Der Drachstein (dragon stone) found at Mount Pilatus. A story of mythic proportions, it embodies a cultural and historical identity close to the Generative’s Center creative works. As we embark in this journey in close collaboration with the Lucerne Museum, we dive deep into the mythic structure of dragons and legends of old, and it’s significance today.
The Luzern region, marked by a long history of extraordinary natural phenomena, holds stories that exist in the liminal space between empirical observation and myth. An eighteenth-century copper engraving depicting a dragon in flight, releasing a stone from the sky, captures precisely what draws us to this legend: the moment when human perception transforms natural events into narrative. The image does not document reality; rather, it reveals a collective impulse to narrate, to share, and to believe.
Myths and legends have always functioned as powerful social instruments, stories that generate emotional bonds and create communal meaning across generations.

Daniel Jeanrichard
Working into further development for our coming AI animation film and accompanying documentary about the beginnings of the Swiss watchmaking industry in the region of La Chaux de Fonds, we recently visited Le Locle. This small mountain city today still holds the most important concentration of renowned watchmaking houses.
Jeanrichard’s story is, in many ways, the origin myth of Swiss watchmaking industry myth and carries its spirit. Born in the small rural hamlet of Les Bressels in the 17th century, his life reminds us that innovation often begins with curiosity, persistence, and the courage to depart from what is expected.
Daniel Jeanrichard celebrates the profound truth that when knowledge and resources are shared rather than hoarded, they have the power to transform our world and uplift entire communities. It’s a film about innovation, community, and the mysterious alchemy by which one person’s obsession becomes an entire culture’s legacy.
